The Journal of Neuroendocrinology (JNE) is a leading peer-reviewed journal publishing all aspects of neuroendocrine research, providing a single home for high-quality research reports and review articles from across the discipline, through its two research strands: Fundamental and Mechanistic Neuroendocrinology (FMN) and Translational and Clinical Neuroendocrinology (TCN). JNE is the official journal of the International Neuroendocrine Federation (INF) and several of its member societies, including PANS.
Publishing the newest ideas in neuroendocrinology
Journal of Neuroendocrinology publishes original research and contemporary review articles in the field of neuroendocrinology. It provides the main international outlet for the newest ideas in neuroendocrinology through its two strands: ‘Fundamental and Mechanistic Neuroendocrinology’ (FMN) and 'Translational and Clinical Neuroendocrinology’ (TCN).
The FMN strand of Journal of Neuroendocrinology provides the principal international focus for research in classical, molecular and mechanistic neuroendocrinology and its expanding interface with the regulation of behavioural, cognitive, developmental, degenerative and metabolic processes.
The TCN strand of Journal of Neuroendocrinology caters for translational neuroendocrinology and neuroendocrine oncology, including basic and clinical research of direct relevance to human health, and the diagnosis and treatment of neuroendocrine disorders and neuroendocrine tumours.
Through the rapid monthly publication of original manuscripts and cutting edge review articles, the journal provides essential reading for basic scientists and clinicians researching in this rapidly expanding field.
Providing excellent, relevant and novel content
Journal of Neuroendocrinology currently has two Editors-in-Chief, one for each strand, appointed by the BSN Trustees. Professor Mike Lehman of the Kent State University, Ohio, is the Editor-in-Chief for the 'Fundamental and Mechanistic Neuroendocrinology' strand and Professor Wouter W. de Herder of Erasmus M.C., Rotterdam, is the Editor-in-Chief for the 'Translational and Clinical Neuroendocrinology’ strand. The Editors-in-Chief are supported by Deputies and an Editorial Manager in the Journal Office in Aberdeen. A high quality peer review process is delivered by an international team of Senior Editors uniquely providing expertise across the full spectrum of the field as well as gender and geographical representation, and an Editorial Advisory Board of international standing comprising a network of reviewers from across the world. In determining content, the primary considerations are excellence, relevance and novelty.
